One person was hospitalized and another arrested after an altercation ended in a shooting in Pinellas Park.
According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, the victim was driving a motorcycle in the 7100 block of 63rd Street around 12:01 a.m., when he got into a verbal argument with a female while fireworks were going off in the street.
During the argument, BM attempted to grab onto the victim as he tried to leave the area. The victim started backing up his motorcycle as the argument continued.
According to officers, M produced a firearm from his waistband during the encounter, and the victim attempted to ride away.
While the victim was attempting to ride away, M shot his firearm multiple times, hitting the victim.
The victim was located at a nearby friend’s house, where life-saving measures were provided before he was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, officers said.
M fled the scene in a vehicle, but later returned and voluntarily surrendered.
According to officers, M was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail for Attempted Second Degree Murder.
