Man arrested after stabbing his brother in Escambia County

A man was arrested on Saturday night following a stabbing that left his brother injured, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 6800 block of Cornelius Lane just before midnight, where they found a man suffering from stab wounds to the hand and chest.

Deputies determined it was a fight between two brothers.

The suspect, 40-year-old Edward Pettway, was taken into custody.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Petteway is now being held in Escambia County Jail with a charge of homicide and no bond.
