A man was arrested early Monday morning after stabbing another man in the neck in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.
According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just after 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the 15800 block of Southwest 207th Avenue.
Deputies said the victim told them he was involved in a verbal argument with the suspect, B, 40, of Miami, over B allegedly stealing his property.
He said he turned around at one point and B stabbed him in the neck.
According to the report, the victim said he was able to put his hands up to stop the knife from cutting deeper into his throat, but B raised the knife again and continued to try to stab the victim’s neck multiple times.
Deputies said B ultimately slashed the victim on the left side of the neck a second time and stabbed him in the chest.
The victim told detectives he was eventually able to push B away from him and run away.
He later identified B to authorities in a photo.
Deputies said B was arrested early Monday morning after deputies were dispatched to the 15300 block of Southwest 207th Avenue in reference to an unknown male inside of a property.
He was arrested on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
As of Monday afternoon, B was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed his bond as “to be set.”
