A man was arrested for DUI following a hit-and-run crash in Escambia County Thursday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Mobile Highway and Green Street.
According to FHP, a Toyota Tacoma collided with the concrete and steel center lane median divider.
Witness told FHP that once the truck struck the barrier, it backed up and fled the scene west on Mobile Hwy.
Deputies later located the truck in the U-Haul parking lot on Mobile Hwy. The driver — 45-year-old BB — was asleep behind the wheel.
B was transported to the ER for evaluation and then arrested upon his release.
He’s charged with:
- DUI/property damage
- hit and run
- open container
- failure to maintain lane
No charges were filed for the passenger in the vehicle.
