Man arrested for road rage in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Matias Fleuriza appeared in Broward County court on Wednesday accused of assaulting someone during a road rage incident in Fort Lauderdale.

Fleuriza, 33, stood before Circuit Judge Christopher M. Brown after an officer with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department arrested him on Tuesday.

Assistant State Attorney Eric Linder said there was a firearm involved in the road rage incident and Fleuriza had an arrest record for trespassing.

“I am ordering no driving without a court order,” Brown said in court.

Fleuriza, of Fort Lauderdale, reported he has worked at 6 a.m., Monday to Friday, for a local autobody shop for about a decade.

“I am going to allow you to drive to and from work, Monday through Friday and for work purposes only,” Brown told Fleuriza.

Brown said Fleuriza was facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

Brown found probable cause for the charge and set a $7,500 bond. The judge also ordered Fleuriza to stay away from the victim and away from weapons.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
