A 31-year-old man is charged for a fatal DUI crash last November in Escambia County.
Casey Folds of Pensacola was arrested Monday on charges of:
- DUI Manslaughter
- DUI Serious Bodily Injury
The crash happened on November 13, 2023, on Chemstrand Road.
FHP says Folds was driving his Ford F150 south on Chemstrand Road, while a Dodge Charger and a Harley Davidson motorcycle were traveling north.
“As the Ford approached the Charger and Harley, the right tires dropped off the pavement onto the shoulder,” FHP says in a release. “Folds attempted to regain control of the Ford and swerved left back onto the roadway and into the lane where the Charger and Harley were operating. The front of the Ford collided with the side of the Charger. After the initial collision, the Ford began rotating, causing the Harley to hit the right side of the Ford. The collision entrapped the occupants of the Charger.”
Following the crash, the occupants and operator of the other vehicles involved were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with injuries. The driver of the Dodge Charger later passed away from his injuries.
Folds was also transported to Baptist Hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash.
During the subsequent investigation, FHP says it discovered that Folds was under the influence with a blood alcohol content of .315.
Folds is being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.
