A man who was recently fired from his job at a Pembroke Pines barbershop was arrested Friday after he went back to his former place of employment and shot his ex-coworker, police said.
The shooting happened at Halftime Barbershop at 15677 Pines Boulevard.
Pembroke Pines Police said 29-year-old Jesus L. Santiago-Zabala was let go from his job Thursday. A day later, he went back to the barbershop, confronted his coworker, and then shot him.
Police said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries while the shooter was detained.
Santiago-Zabala faces a charge of attempted murder.
The shooting was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the community, police said.
