Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing, Manatee Sheriff says

A man was killed in Bradenton early Sunday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a residence on 60th Avenue Drive East at around 2 a.m. and found two injured men. One was suffering multiple stab wounds and the other had a laceration to his head.

The men were transported to separate hospitals for treatment, and despite life-saving efforts, the 40-year-old with stab wounds was pronounced dead a few hours later. He was later identified by MCSO as 40-year-old Wednes Cleophat.

MCSO said witnesses reported an argument between the two men descended into violence when the suspect, 39-year-old JA, stabbed the victim multiple times. A was arrested and booked into the Manatee County Jail after being treated for his injuries.

He has been charged with murder, the sheriff’s office said.
