Man charged with murdering brother at Casa Blanca restaurant in south Fort Myers

A man is accused of murdering his brother in the parking lot of Casa Blanca restaurant in south Fort Myers.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, at 8 p.m. deputies responded to the restaurant in reference to a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found a man dead with gunshot wounds.

The suspect was identified as Steve Iglesia, 25. He was immediately detained.

Detectives learned Iglesia was at the restaurant with family when he got into an argument. The verbal fight turned physical and continued outside of the restaurant.

LCSO says that’s when Iglesia shot the victim.

NBC2 spoke with Steve’s father who said he shot and killed his brother named Christopher who was 25.

The father said he is heartbroken and confused. He said Iglesia was in the military and suffers from PTSD.

Iglesia was charged with second-degree murder and domestic violence battery.

The sheriff’s office said Iglesia is currently in custody at the Lee County Jail and is awaiting first appearance.
