An adult and a child were hospitalized after a car was driven into a Broward County canal.

It happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Southwest 15th Street and 12th Avenue in Pompano Beach.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a man lost control of his car and crossed over a median and possibly a guard rail before entering the water.

Deputies said a Good Samaritan witnessed the crash and helped the driver and a child who had been in the car.
