Man claims self-defense after shooting at Ybor laundromat, police say

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — One person is hospitalized after police said an older man shot the victim in self-defense at Ybor Coin Laundromat early Friday morning.

Just before 2 a.m. Tampa police responded to the 1800 block of North 34th Street after someone had been shot.

Officials discovered that two men had gotten into an altercation, leading to an older man shooting the victim, claiming self-defense.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police department. He is in stable condition.
