Man dead after crash involving dump truck on I-75 in Estero

A man is dead after a crash on I-75 in Estero near the Bonita Beach Road and Corkscrew Road exits Friday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 1:50 a.m. a 21-year-old Estero man crashed into the back of a dump truck.

HP says the car went into the grass and flipped.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP reported that three crashes happened along the same stretch of I-75 Friday.

NBC2 crews at the scene saw a vehicle left mangled on the side of I-75. The roof and back of the vehicle were shredded.

A truck could also be seen flipped on its roof in the median.

FHP says all lanes are back open. Expect slowdowns.

This crash remains under investigation.
