Man dead after early morning Putnam County fatal crash

Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said a man is dead after an early-morning crash in Putnam County Friday.

FHP troopers said the victim was driving an SUV south down State Road 19 south of Buckman Lock Road.

They said a second vehicle crashed into the first vehicle’s passenger side.

The victim was a 43-year-old male from Orange Park, FHP troopers said, and he was wearing a seatbelt.

The report does not detail when the victim was pronounced dead or if they were transported to the hospital for treatment, but there is a homicide investigator assigned to this case, Cpl. M Leroux.
