A 33-year-old man died Sunday night when his truck hit a guardrail on I-95 northbound, and he was thrown from the vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the man, who is from Jacksonville, was headed north on I-95 in St. Johns County, north of State Road 206, when he ran off the road to the left around 7:45 p.m. Sunday. The left side of the truck hit the guardrail in the median.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck and died at the scene, FHP said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the report.
