Man dies after being hit by tractor trailer on I-95 in St. Johns County

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 44-year-old man died after being hit by a tractor-trailer on I-95 in St. Johns County.

The crash blocked lanes on the interstate near mile marker 303 for several hours on July 16.

Troopers say a 42-year-old Miami man in a tractor-trailer was driving southbound on I-95 in the right lane around 10 a.m. on July 16.

The 44-year-old man, who is from Longwood, Florida, was walking along the right shoulder of the southbound lanes when troopers say he crossed in front of the truck and was hit by it.

FHP says the man died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt, according to the report.
