Man dies after kayak capsizes during guided tour in Brevard County, officials say

A man died on Thursday after his kayak capsized in Brevard County, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The 62-year-old man was in a tandem kayak with a 44-year-old woman when the vessel capsized during a guided tour of Turkey Creek, FWC said in a statement.

The woman was able to return to the kayak, but the man could not be located after he entered the water, the statement reads. He was later recovered dead, FWC said.

“The FWC extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time,” the statement reads.

FWC is still investigating.
