Man dies after truck overturns, crashes in Volusia County

A 31-year-old man from Valrico died after his pickup truck crashed on State Road 44 in Volusia County on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 westbound in the outside lane when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve near the intersection of Old Sawmill Road.

According to FHP, the truck was traveling above the speed limit, ran off the road, struck several trees, and overturned onto its roof.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s next of kin has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation.
