Man dies in crash with tow truck in Bonita Springs

A Bonita Springs man died in a crash near Channel 30 Drive and Old 41 Road.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old man was driving a Ford F-150 north on Old 41 Road behind a tow truck hauling another truck.

Troopers said the tow truck slowed down to make a right turn onto Channel 30 Drive. According to the report, the Bonita Springs man didn’t slow down before rear-ending the tow truck.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the tow truck was not injured, according to FHP.

FHP said the crash is under investigation.
