Man dies in Westside crash with SUV; marks 22nd motorcycle death this year

A motorcyclist died in a crash on Jacksonville’s westside on Wednesday.

A man in his 30s was riding a motorcycle west on Collins Road around 4 p.m.

A woman in an SUV pulled into the motorcycle’s path as she made a left turn on Collins Road near Stelling Drive to leave a subdivision.

The motorcyclist crashed into the SUV’s driver’s side, causing it to flip over.

The man died at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital. Her condition is unknown.

This accident marks the 90th traffic fatality in Duval County and the 22nd incident involving a motorcyclist.
