Man ejected, killed after pickup rolls over in Marion County, troopers say

A 43-year-old Weirsdale man is dead after an early-morning crash in Marion County Sunday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers were called out to the area of State Road 25 around 7 a.m.

According to an FHP report, after failing to negotiate a curve, the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet pickup lost control, ran off the road, hit a pole and fence, and overturned.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the report states.

The crash remains under investigation.
