The Florida Highway Patrol says around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Panama City Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle traveling north on 231.
FHP said during the chase, the driver intentionally rammed a Bay County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle and an FHP patrol vehicle. The driver then reportedly traveled across the median and rammed another BCSO vehicle.
The vehicle then traveled to the east shoulder, where BCSO assisted in disabling it.
FHP said the suspect, S, was taken into custody.
S also hit two civilian cars during the chase.
Bay County authorities say he also has a lengthy criminal history.
He is facing the following charges: Grand theft of Automobile, Aggravated Battery on Law Enforcement, Fleeing in attempt to elude law Enforcement, and Felony Criminal Mischief.
A police chase on Tuesday afternoon along Highway 231 ended in a crash.
The pursuit involved a Carvana trailer traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.
Reports say FHP and Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the chase.
That’s all we know right now; more details will be released as they become available.
