Man fatally shot inside vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, police say

A man was fatally shot early Wednesday morning while sitting inside his vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, officers responded to the 1300 block of Northwest 13^th Court shortly before 4:30 a.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert in the area.

While searching the area, officers found the victim in his car, with a gunshot wound, authorities said.

Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators remain at the scene, working to determine what led up to the shooting.

No other details were immediately released.
