A man was fatally struck by a car on Interstate 95 North at County Road 210 in St. Johns County on Saturday night, according to St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said at 7 p.m., two cars were driving north on I-95 approaching Mile Marker 331 and a man, later identified as N M, was on the right shoulder.
Officials said M tried to cross the travel lanes from east to west and was struck by a vehicle, which stopped on the inside shoulder.
Then the second vehicle struck M in the middle lane and stopped on the inside shoulder ahead of the first vehicle.
He died at the scene.
All lanes were shut down while FHP and SJCSO investigated. Officials said no one else was transported or injured.
