One person inside a Lealman home and a firefighter were transported to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation after a 12-bedroom home caught fire.
Crews with the Lealman Fire District, Pinellas Park Fire Department, and St. Petersburg Fire Department responded to a home that had caught on fire early Monday morning.
According to the Lealman Fire District, the home was converted to have 12 bedrooms.
A man was pulled out of the home by firefighters and taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Crews said four additional victims escaped the home on their own and refused care.
One firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation, Lealman Fire District said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
