Investigators at the scene of a fatal overnight crash did not take long to determine that it was a hit-and-run.
According to authorities, a man was found dead on Southwest 187th Avenue in Miami-Dade County, near the Redlands.
For hours, the deceased man remained underneath a tarp, and steps away, a parked BMW could be seen with the passenger door open.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the dark residential area around 5 a.m. Sunday after receiving an initial report of a man lying in the road.
When first responders arrived, they pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators said there have been so many hit-and-run crashes recently, they want to get the word out as quickly as possible to help find the person responsible.
Authorities have not said whether they are seeking any suspects or persons of interest.
