 A man was shot in Escambia County on Wednesday night.

Deputies got the call around 7:15 p.m. The shooting happened on the 4400 block of Deauville Way.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim was found with a gunshot wound to his chest in the front yard of a home. He was taken to a hospital.

Several residents in the Montclair neighborhood called into the WEAR newsroom saying they heard several “pops.”

One neighbor said she heard the gunshots from her porch. Multiple units responded to the scene.

The sheriff’s office says a gun and multiple shell casings were found in the area.
