A man believed to be in his 20s or 30s was found fatally shot early Wednesday morning in Bruce Park off Arlington and Rogero roads, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Sgt. Steve Rudlaff with the JSO Homicide Unit said someone who lives in an apartment across the street called 911 about gunfire after seeing someone lying on the ground in the park.

Officers responded around 2 a.m. and found the man, who died at the scene.

Rudlaff said investigators do not know the circumstances of the shooting but they are looking for any video in the area that might help them determine what happened.
