A 37-year-old man was hit by a Casselberry police patrol car Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. at N. Winter Park Drive and 7th Street in Casselberry.

According to troopers, the marked Casselberry police car was traveling westbound on 7th Street and tried to turn left onto N. Winter Park Drive.

Troopers say at the same time, the 37-year-old man was walking north in a marked crosswalk when the front of the patrol car hit him.

The officer driving the patrol car told troopers they did not see the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The officer was not injured.

The pedestrian, a man from Altamonte Springs, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

FHP said the crash is under investigation.
