A man was taken to the hospital on Sunday after he was shot at restaurant and lounge in North Miami, police said.

According to North Miami Police, officers arrived at the area of 13785 NW 7th Ave. after receiving calls of shots being fired.

At the scene, officers searched the area for any victims, but they didn’t find anyone.

Soon after, officers learned that a man had been taken to the hospital by private means. Officers went to the hospital and confirmed that the man had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

NBC6 spoke to a witness who was across the street when the shooting happened and said he heard between 25 to 30 shots fired.

“In the moment, it’s scary,” he said. “It’s a lot scary. A lot of people run. ‘Hey, what happened?’ They said, ‘Shoot, shoot.’ It’s crazy. A lot of people. It’s scary.”

No arrests have been made as the investigation into the shooting remains active.
