UPDATE: The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 39-year-old MC.
Sheriff Gordon Smith says C made threats to the Florida Credit Union’s call center Monday.
On Tuesday, C entered the Florida Credit Union in Starke wearing a visible handgun.
C was found at his father’s home on Northwest County Road 225 near Northwest State Road 16.
ORIGINAL STORY: Deputies with the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office are on scene of a deadly deputy-involved shooting.
Sheriff Gordon Smith says the shooting happened around 7 PM as deputies were attempting to make contact with a suspect involved in making threats to bank employees earlier in the day.
The man was located at his home on Northwest County Road 225 near Northwest State Road 16. The sheriff says the man came out of his home with two firearms.
While deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation, shots were fired, resulting in the suspect being hit. The man, who has not been identified, died at the scene. Four deputies who were involved in the shooting were not hurt.
County Road 225, west of State Road 16, is closed to traffic.
