A man in Charlotte County was arrested after deputies say he knocked someone who was riding their bicycle into the ground and threatened to kill them.
According to an arrest report, deputies with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Pellam Boulevard and Cochran Boulevard in reference to an assault.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim, who told them that while he was riding his bicycle, he saw an unknown man walking toward him. The man, later identified as Zubryck, 43, hit the victim after he had pulled over on his bike to avoid hitting Z, the victim said.
The victim told deputies that stood over him and told him “I will kill you,”.
While the victim tried to get off of the ground, he searched for his pepper spray. The victim told deputies that he used his pepper spray on Zy.
A witness to the incident told CCSO that she saw the victim riding his bicycle when Z pushed him off. She said that she saw the victim pull out the pepper spray, but did not know if he used it.Deputies spoke with Z, who told them that the victim drove into him and knocked him down. Z added that the victim pulled out a knife and used pepper spray to spray him in the face.
Z was arrested and faces a charge of battery on a person 65 years or older.
