Police are investigating a stabbing at a Cuban cafeteria in West Miami-Dade that left one man in critical condition.
Miami-Dade Police responded to a scene of a stabbing at 12848 SW 8th St, Tuesday night.
“Blue hair. Black clothing. He’s possibly still armed with a knife,” was heard over the Broadcastify police scanner.
Police said an adult male customer at a Cuban cafeteria was causing a disturbance.
7News spoke with frequent patron, E, who said he witnessed a man threatening a female employee.
“Terrible. I see everything,” He said.
Another adult male customer intervened to try and calm the aggressor down and get him to leave. That led to a fight between the two men outside of the cafeteria.
At some point during the altercation, the aggressor grabbed a knife and stabbed the other customer.
The victim ended up being stabbed in his lung, torso, and arm.
“There was a subject within this cafeteria who was causing a disturbance. Another customer noticed this disturbance occurring and attempted to intervene. Both the subject and the customer existed the restaurant and an argument assumed, said” Det. Andre Martin with Miami-Dade Police. “That argument became physical and the subject produced the knife. The intervening customer was stabbed multiple times and the subject fled in an unknown direction.”
The victim was transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition.
“His bravery and his intervention should be commended but we do not recommend that the general public involves themselves in any situation that could become violent,” said Martin.
The subject, known as Shorty, remains at large as he left the area following the stabbing.
Police said the subject has distinguishing royal blue hair.
