A man in a wheelchair was killed Thursday morning in a crash involving a tanker truck in Florida City, police confirmed to Local 10 News.
According to an officer at the scene, the driver of a tanker truck was driving down North Krome Avenue when he struck a homeless man in a wheelchair.
The officer said the 800 block of North Krome Avenue was dark at the time when the crash occurred and the driver didn’t see the victim in the roadway.
According to police, the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
