Man injured in vehicle fire at Robert’s Tires & Auto Repair in Fort Myers

One man was injured after a vehicle fire at Robert’s Tires & Auto Repair in Fort Myers on Saturday afternoon.

The Fort Myers Fire Department responded to the scene around 2 p.m.

According to fire crews, the vehicle was on a trailer and was set to be scrapped. The car had several leaks which caught fire and spread to another vehicle and a nearby dumpster.

FMFD said the owner of the tire shop sustained minor burns to his hands while attempting to put out the flames.

The State Fire Marshal said this is an ongoing investigation.

Additionally, there is road blockage in the southbound lanes of Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.
