Man killed in crash on I-75 near Brandon after being ejected from car: FHP (Florida Highway Patrol)

A tragic incident occurred on Thursday near Brandon on I-75, resulting in the unfortunate death of a man who was ejected from a car during a crash, as confirmed by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

FHP responded to the scene at approximately 11:52 a.m. on Thursday, which was located near the SR-60 access ramp. The sequence of events involved a Land Rover SUV, which was traveling on the eastbound entrance ramp from the Selmon Expressway to northbound I-75. However, the Land Rover failed to negotiate a curve, veering off the roadway and then entering the access ramp. It collided with the passenger side of a Toyota SUV that was traveling on the I-75 access ramp to SR-60. Both vehicles subsequently left the road and came to a stop in the northbound lanes of I-75. The Toyota SUV overturned during the collision, and its driver, a 50-year-old man from Temple Terrace, was ejected from the vehicle.

Tragically, the injured man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, as per FHP reports. The second driver, a 56-year-old woman from Clearwater, did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
