Man killed in shooting at business on Baymeadows Road; shooter called 911, JSO says

A man was killed in a shooting Monday night on Jacksonville’s Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. at a restaurant on Baymeadows Road, near Princeton Square Boulevard E.

When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound.

Police said he died at the scene.

According to JSO, the shooter was still on scene, and officers learned from dispatch that he was the 911 caller.

The shooter was transported to the Police Memorial Building for an interview, police said.

Police said they didn’t know the relationship of the parties involved, nor the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
