Man killed in South Florida crash after t-bone style collision

A man was killed after he got into a deadly crash in Wilton Manors.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, on May 10, BSO’s communication department received reports of a crash near 2400 Northwest Ninth Avenue in Wilton Manors.

BSO’s investigation revealed the man was driving a 2007 Toyota Matrix when he made a wide right turn from a parking lot onto Northwest Ninth Avenue. At the same time, a Nissan Versa was traveling through the left lane.

As the man made his turn, it caused a T-bone collision with the 2022 Nissan Versa. The crash resulted in both vehicles being sent into the center median. The Toyota Matrix impacted a tree and came to a final rest.

Paramedics transported the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The deputy’s investigation found the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the Nissan Versa was uninjured.

The man’s name is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
