JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Cottondale man has died after a motorcycle crash on Lakepoint Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man driving a motorcycle was traveling north on Lakepoint Road just before 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
FHP says the driver was approaching a curve just east of US Highway 231 when he misjudged the turn. The motorcycle continued to head straight onto the northeast shoulder.
Florida Highway Patrol reports the vehicle came to a final rest on the right side of the street. The driver came to a final rest on his back with his legs underneath his motorcycle.
The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County Fire and Rescue.
