The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested B K after he reportedly ran from a crash on Nalle Grade Road in North Fort Myers Saturday night.
LCSO said K then went into a yard along Williams Drive and tried to steal a four-wheeler.
“I was sleeping that night when the family called me and told me he was driving up the property, and he saw him try to steal the four-wheeler,” said D D, who was working on the four-wheeler for a friend.
Security footage shows K crashing into the gate and leaving the four-wheeler behind before running away.
“I was entering the property, and I saw the lights on the vehicle, and he left,” said H S, who owns the property the four-wheeler was being kept on. He said he now has to pay thousands of dollars to fix the gate.
LCSO said once K was cleared from the hospital and being taken into a patrol car, he looked at the deputy, said “Sorry man” and took off running, before being caught yet again.
K is charged with grand theft, burglary and attempting to escape.
