A man shot and killed his estranged wife’s new boyfriend before taking his own life, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies said a 911 call came in at 3:49 a.m. from a woman telling dispatch that her estranged husband was at her home threatening to shoot her new boyfriend.

Dispatch also got a call from the 12-year-old son, who was upstairs hiding in a closet stating that “daddy just broke into the house.”

Dispatch, on the phone with the woman, heard her estranged husband tell her new boyfriend “I am going to kill you” before they heard several gunshots.

Deputies arrived at 3:56 a.m. and found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and what they believed to be a man lying next to the vehicle also engulfed in flames with a gun next to him.
