Man shot by coworker according to Volusia Sheriff's Office

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot, allegedly by his coworker, on Friday in Pierson.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the 600 block of Glenhaven Avenue in Pierson around 6:20 p.m. for a shooting outside. When they arrived, the first responding deputy found the adult male victim conscious and alert with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was in the driver’s seat of a minivan parked in a driveway when deputies got to him.

The deputy was able to get pressure on the wound and help the victim until additional units and EMS crews arrived. The victim was then transported to an area hospital, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigators believe the shooter to be the victim’s coworker, who walked up to the vehicle and shot the man before running away. Deputies say the suspect has not yet been located.
