Man shot, drives to hospital after possible road-rage incident in Ives Estates: MDSO

A man who was shot in a possible road-rage incident in Ives Estates on Thursday drove himself to a hospital, where he said his car was stolen as he was taken to another medical center, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO).

The victim told authorities that he was shot “by an unknown subject” while driving in the area of Ives Dairy Road and Northeast 15th Avenue.

A woman’s car was also struck; that driver was uninjured.

The sheriff’s office responded at around 6:15 p.m. and said the shooting was “possibly road rage related.”

The man was capable of driving himself to Jackson North Medical Center, where he was treated and in stable condition, authorities said. Later, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took him to HCA Aventura Hospital, also in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office also said that the victim alleged that his car was parked outside the hospital when “an unknown subject entered his vehicle and manage to drive away in an unknown direction.”

Authorities have not provided any information about a possible suspect.

MDSO General Investigations Unit detectives have assumed the investigation and are actively investigating.
