The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the 10000 block of Harts Road.
According to JSO, officers responded around 3 a.m. and found an adult man with a gunshot wound to the groin. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.
Detectives say the man had been in a fight with two suspects when one of them pulled out a firearm and shot him. The suspects fled the scene in a silver Jeep SUV.
One suspect is described as approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a black shirt and black shorts. The other suspect was wearing a red shirt and black shorts.
Police say this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Crime scene investigators and detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
