A man riding a scooter in Lakeland was shot by an unknown person on Monday night, the Lakeland Police Department announced.
Officers responded to reports of a person shot shortly after 11 p.m. in the 1000 block of Sikes Boulevard.
Arriving, officers found a 27-year-old man who was able to speak with detectives and told them he was riding his scooter when he was shot by an unknown person from a dark-colored vehicle, LPD said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
