Man stabbed ‘several’ times in rural northwest Miami-Dade

A man walking down a road in a rural area in far northwest Miami-Dade was approached by another man who stabbed him “with an object that resembled a machete” on Saturday, deputies said.

The stabbing happened in a relatively remote farming and ranching area near Northwest 178th Street and 137th Avenue, off Okeechobee Road near the county line.

A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said medics airlifted the victim to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital to be treated for “several stab wounds,” describing his condition as “stable.”

Authorities haven’t publicly identified anyone involved nor said whether the men knew each other prior to the altercation.
