Authorities are investigating after they said a man was struck and killed by a Brightline train in Deerfield Beach on Monday night.
The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. in the area of West Hillsboro Boulevard and Dixie Highway.
Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said the man was trying to cross the east set of railroad tracks when he was struck by the train.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the safety equipment was working properly while investigators were at the scene.
Traffic homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
