A pedestrian has died after police said he was struck by a suspected drunken driver Friday night in St. Petersburg.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, a vehicle struck a man as he was crossing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South at about 9:45 p.m. in an unmarked crosswalk.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old KB, was traveling southbound on Dr. MLK Jr. St. S. in an SUV when she struck 32-year-old TG of St. Pete, police said.
B then left the scene of the crash.
G was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
An hour after the crash, officers found B at her home, where she was arrested for DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
