Man struck, killed while crossing CR-484 in Marion County

A man was struck and killed Sunday night while crossing a road in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 8:35 a.m. on County Road 484 at SE 47th Avenue.

The FHP said a 47-year-old Ocklawaha woman was driving east on C.R. 484 and “was not able to see” the man, who was walking north across the eastbound lanes.

The woman’s car struck the man, who was taken to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, where he died, according to troopers.

The woman, who remained at the scene, was not injured, an FHP crash report stated.

No other details have been released.
