Man with gun in fanny pack choked, made threats to family at Dunkin'

A Royal Palm Beach altercation at Dunkin’ Donuts turned violent Sunday when a man allegedly threatened to kill the victim in front of his kids.

On Sunday, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) deputies say they arrived at a Royal Palm Beach Dunkin’ off State Road 7 to investigate a disturbance.

Upon arrival, 45-year-old AS told deputies that he was choked by another man, who took his fanny pack with a Sig Sauer P365 handgun inside.

When deputies located the man S accused of snatching his fanny pack, they heard a different story.

The man told deputies that a verbal argument ensued inside Dunkin’ and continued in the parking lot.

When the man entered his car, deputies say S threatened to shoot and kill him in front of his children who were sitting in the backseat.

He then allegedly reached for his fanny pack around his waist, which the victim knew contained a gun, while restraining him by choking him with the other hand. The victim threw the fanny pack in his back seat to keep it from S.

Based on the victim’s statement, S was booked on counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse.
