Manatee County man accused of battering pregnant girlfriend

A man from Manatee County has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of battery against a pregnant woman and child abuse.

A R-E, 22, is accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend over the course of two days and punching her in the stomach.

The victim, a 23-year-old mother of two, was eventually able to escape the residence and call for help.

The sheriff’s office said after the victim fled, R-E reportedly sent her photos of her 1- and 2-year-old children with bruises and other wounds.

When deputies arrived on scene, the found both children suffering from numerous lacerations, bruising and swelling.

Both of the children and their mother were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Reyes-Enos and charged him with felony domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, tampering with a 911 call, false imprisonment, and two counts of aggravated child abuse.
